Chickens at Blue Gate Farm
Linden and I braved the chilly and wet weather yesterday to make it out for this year’s Farm Crawl. I will basically take any opportunity I can get to let Linden be out on farms—she does a mean chicken impersonation!—and I knew that she would be happy to be outside as long as she was warm enough. Armed with her winter coat (thanks Patagonia web specials!) we made it to three of the farms on this year’s route.

I love that we live closer to this event and that we even saw friends at each stop (without planning to!). And while it wasn’t the ideal weather, it was a lot of fun to see animals, to visit our CSA farm, and to play in a sandbox-type box of corn.

Linden also filled up on oatmeal cookies and apples, and I brought home a 1/2 bushel of apples. They are firm, so I am hopeful that we can eat many of them fresh—though I am sure that there are apple chips and perhaps a pie in our future!
